Peter Rixon and Brian Ashe attended the Northern Illawarra Club President’s Meeting and reported back a number of things. The District Governor Elect informed us that the new Constitution has been ratified by Rotary International and for all intent really cannot be changed. This is because if it was altered by an individual club that altered version would have to be approved by Rotary International which would prove so time consuming and difficult that it would be almost impossible
John Bilboe returned to the club this morning in a beanie because he has no hair. John had done this because Darren, his son, was losing his hair because of the treatment he was receiving. John said he was in good health which was confirmed by his Doctor, and his son Darren recently being diagnosed with Non Hodgskin’s Lymphoma and can only have medication as treatment, which he is doing. All members wished John and his family well.

What a treat we had last week, our guest speakers were from PAWS n Tails. Sharon a volunteer from PAWS n Tails brought her trained dog called Hudson who was the star of our Club meeting. As Sharon described the work PAWS n Tails in our community, Hudson wandered around and introduced himself to each member present.
Our love and prayers are with DG Stephen and his wife, Judith, with the very sad loss of Stephen’s mother on Saturday.

Help is needed to man a BBQ at the Mt Keira lookout on Sunday 30th October from 6AM to 4PM. This is the day the “Radiance of the Seas” will be coming into Port Kembla Harbour and they are anticipating many people will be at Mt Keira lookout to witness this event, which is why this BBQ is starting so early. During the day buses will be bringing passengers from the ship to the lookout where they not only can take in the views but also experience an Aussie BBQ.
