President’s Report No 4 (meeting of 25.8.17)

I have returned from 2 weeks holiday in Vietnam and was very dramatically brought back to ground from day 1 on my return. I have attended a Meeting with Stephen Swan about the Philippines, a Race Day meeting that evening, the next day I went on a HARS Tour with members of the National Trust followed in the evening with a Philippines meeting only to get up the next day to our weekly meeting. Reports on those meetings will be in the minutes except for HARS. The only thing I can say about that tour was go and do it. I was amazed at the size of the display and the amount of aircraft and what can be seen. Take your grandchildren as an excuse but do it.   All enjoyable but caused the holiday to dim rather quickly.  That was on top of trying to catch up with what had gone on so that I can pass that information onto you.

What is coming up is there will be a further Philippines meeting, with Glenhaven on Friday 22 September directly after our morning meeting. This meeting will discuss the programme and outline for the tour as well as any other matters.
There is a Bunnings information night about Bar-B-Ques at their sites on Thursday 7 September from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. If you are able to come please contact me before that date.
There could be a combined meeting of local clubs held in early November with guest speaker Jay Thorogood talking on “Rotary Solar Lights”. This is also an opportunity to meet with fellow Rotarians from other local clubs.
