President’s report – 28th May to 3rd June
June and July are the changeover months. Monday 29th May was Rotary Club of Fairy Meadows Presentation night. The Presentation dinner was held at Collegians Club at Balgownie. President Jenny Godin will continue as President of the club for the next 12 months and this Rotary year will share the presidency with Rotarian Beverly Reardon.
Rotarian PP David Guillaume gave the toast to Rotary International and the response was given by District Governor Stephen Humphreys. A number of cheques were distributed to a number of local charities. It was a good night of Rotary fellowship and I we wish the club success as they continue their service above self.
Our club changeover is quickly approaching, with much to do as club president. To date our venue has been organised at the Admiral Room Novotel, awards have been organised. The program for the changeover is nearly finalised. Just need to complete our awards and we are ready.
In the mean time our New Generation Director Bernadette McNamara has been organising with our Interact Club suitable applicants for the National Youth Science Forum. This annual program is a highly competitive summer school program dedicated to exposing year eleven students who are heading into year twelve and are thinking about a career in science.
There are 4 applications from our Interact club at St Marys Star of the Sea. Each of them has expressed an interest, now we go to the next round of selection. The interview for selection will be held in July and the interviewers will be from our district.
