Ride4Rotary was held on a beautiful day as the sun shone.  It was a warm day and little wind.  There were a number of Rotarians thereto support the event.  Members from Rotary Clubs of Corrimal, Illawarra Sunrise and West Wollongong.

District Governor Stephen Humphries and wife Judith were there in support as well.  PP David Swan reported at our Club meeting the event raised over $14, 000, to be distributed to Southern Youth and Family.  Well done to David, Michael and Rowan who represented our club on the Ride4Rotary committee.  Well done to Tony and Peter for their assistance on the day.

District Presidents meeting was held last Friday at Liverpool Catholic Club near Hoxton Park.  Number of speakers presented a variety of topics.  Several of the speakers stood out to me.  One was a mother and her son who are part of a Rotary Oceana Medical Aid for Children (ROMAC) support.  They came from an isolated village where transport was nonexistent.  It was fantastic to hear the mother’s story and how successful her son’s medical treatment has been.

Preparation is well under way for our change over luncheon on the 25th June at 12:00pm.  The changeover will be held at Novotel North Beach, Wollongong.  This coming Monday 5th June is the Wings over the Illawarra 2017 Rotary presentation, 1100am at HARS.  At this important PR ceremony Mark and Kerry Bright will present $10,000 to Rotary as donation from WOI 17.
