A most successful day at Kembla Grange
Race Day started out as a concern as it rained during the early hours of the approaching covered sunrise. As morning flourished the rain subsided, clouds cleared away and beautiful sunshine became part of the day. Kembla Grange Race Course was beautifully presented. Roses were in full bloom, lawns where well manicured, lush and green. and a great group of people enjoyed the day. The program was well managed and a fantastic job done by Tony as MC. Race Day coincided with Tony’s birthday, thank you for sharing your birthday with us. District Governor Stephen Humphreys and wife Judith attended and enjoyed the day.
Bernadette, Elaine and Bernie’s friend Vi Regal did a marvellous job with table placements and controlling the prize distribution. It was wonderful to have three of the Interact students from St Marys Star of the Sea. They helped with prize distribution and the selling of $10 and $20 lucky dip prizes. All three of the Interact students would like to help next year.
Glad to hear that Club members enjoyed their day at the Races. Rixon’s were well over the $250 from winnings on the day. My youngest daughter enjoyed the winnings as well, She and her partner went to dinner Saturday night and to the pictures. Well under $250, oh well.
Thanks go to Bernie, Elaine and Tony. Terrific job under difficult circumstances. Thank you to the team who were selling Christmas raffle tickets with a great result. Good result from Harvey Normans on Sunday, well done to Tony and Bernie.
A note from the DG
