Please be aware of yet another scam that this time is being targeted at Rotary members. The email that was brought to my attention is purported to be from Rotarian Bahaa Shalaby from the Rotary Club of Al Mansouria, Club Number 55555, District 2450, Egypt. This person is seeking a partnership in investing money in Australia with a trustworthy and honest person. Please note that this is a scam.

Ron Mewburn PHF from Concord Rotary Club has passed away. Ron started his Rotary life as a member of the Rotary Club of Alexandria (60’s), then Silverwater (70’s-90’s) commencing as Charter Treasurer and on its closure, transferring to the Rotary Club of Concord (2000’s -2016) where he remained very active until recently. He was always hands on – “a doer”, actively involved in numerous Club projects (Bourke Work Experience, OUTREDS, Convoy for Kids, Concord Farmers Market, Youth Exchange) as well as with the various aspects of clubs administration.  He handled all with professionalism, a sense of humour, a generosity of Spirit and a great sense of commitment. He will be missed by many.  He is survived by his sons Michael and Scott their partners and three grandchildren.

Dapto Rotary Club is mourning the loss of their esteemed member Alan Richardson. Alan was a coal mine manager before retirement and had been married to Betty for 60 years. He was very proud of his Yorkshire heritage. He was a great worker for Rotary and is best described as a thoroughly nice gentleman.
Kindest regards
Di North
District Secretary
Rotary Club of Illawarra Sunrise
