ORANGE FIELD DAYS 20-22 OCTOBER 2016

image_pdfimage_print

Every year my Dads rotary club (North Orange) does a food stall at the Orange Field Days as their main fundraiser.

This year Theresa and I went to orange with :

Dave Martin (friend and work colleague from the steelworks)

Theresa Lythgo

Alan and Janelle smith (my  friends from uni)

Bruce and Margot clement (my  friends from uni)

Lee Furness and Bob Laing

to give them a hand.  Its a bit like doing the breakfast on the beach. Bacon and egg rolls, steak sandwiches , hot chips etc. Our group were billeted with the rotarians.

We had plenty of time off! The photo is Theresa and Dave and my Aunt Marita at the Botanic gardens.

Thankyou very much to everyone who came. The orange North club really appreciated the help. Here’s an excerpt from their report. You will notice that a group of local high school students also helped.

President David’s Report

Another very successful National Field Day of catering to the masses. A wonderful team effort by all members and partners who contributed, and especially those who stayed all day over several days, I would not have been able to cope without you all. A special thank you to Rohan Huxtable for bringing his people up from the south coast, they were very friendly and extremely good workers. Thank you also to those members who hosted our visitors. What a joy it was to have the young students from the Hospitality studies of Orange High School
