Tony began the meeting by congratulating last Saturday night’s Swing into Wings as the “best ever” He attributed part of that success with the mixture of Rotarians and the Public (Non Rotarians) and saw this as the way to have events in the future.
Tony thanked the people who volunteered for the Ice Cream selling duties, at Wings Over Illawarra, who contributed to overall takings of Wollongong Rotary of about $9,000.00. I am told that this total may have reached over $10,000.00 had the volunteers only sold Ice Creams and not eaten them.
Tony reminded us of the Halloween Night at TAFE on Wednesday 26 October 2016 and Handover Lunch on Sunday 26 June 2016.
David Swan reminded us about Ride 4 Rotary to be held on Sunday 22 May 2016. This day promises to be a fun day for all the family and David invited us all to become involved in this day. Approximately $4,160.00 has been raised already.
Di North informed us about the Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal which was to be done on the weekend of 28, 29 May at the Netball Courts in Bellambi. This had to be changed to the weekend of 21 May 2016 because of a decision made by those on high in the Netball ranks.
Petert Rixon then reported back on the decision that the Wollongong Rotary Club made at their meeting about their future. The decision was that the club would continue for at least the next twelve months. Leigh will be the President, the club will meet fortnightly and will change where they are meeting for a few different venues during this time.
Tony then raised that there are about 20 people interested in Rolling Thunder Vietnam, which will be held on 2 August 2016 at the Entertainment Centre. Tony will book tickets for the show.

Edith Wilson then gave us a brief report on the Interact meeting she had attended. There will be a “Murder Mystery Night “ coming up soon.

The raffle was won by Bill Wessel who took home a bottle of wine.
