Tony started by welcoming, Therese Lithgow, who was to be given her badge today as an official Friend of Rotary.
Di was then asked to give a report on the “Movie Night” which was held recently. Di thanked all the club members who attended on the night with special thanks to those who brought a fruit platter. There were 220 people who watched “Eddie the Eagle” at one of the premiers held throughout Rotary on the night. The movie was a fun movie and Di reported that she had received very positive reports from those that were there.
Stephen then reported back that 70 tickets had been sold and the advertising of this event was working well because nearly all of these people were not from Rotary. Stephen requested all members that were going to please purchase their tickets soon.
Tony reminded all those people that this Saturday was the Bar-B-Que at Woolworths at Fairy Meadow. Tony read out the list of volunteers that had nominated for duty on the day.
There is a bowel Scan launch at the Novotel on Saturday 23 April 2016 beginning at 10.00am Oncologist Professor Andrew Miller will be the Guest Speaker on the day.
Tony then invited Therese Lithgow to the front to receive her official badge as a Friend of Rotary and explained some of the roles and duties Friends could become involved in to assist this club.
Bernadette then raised that Race Day was coming up in November and from now there will be a basket to put donations in so that the committee can buy prizes for Race Day.
Michael won the raffle and received a bottle of wine for his efforts.
